Claymation Workshop
Sat, May 26 from 1 - 4pm
Carnegie Building, 1360 Oak Street, St. Helena
Free - Everyone
Pixar character animator Carlo Vogele will demonstrate the claymation technique, show how he works with the medium, and then let participants film their own animation projects with clay, puppets and objects.
A native of Luxembourg, Carlo was drawn to puppets and pantomime while studying theater arts
in Berlin. He discovered stop-motion animation during a workshop in Bristol and became
intrigued with the hidden emotions of objects. Life as a young artist in Paris sparked his love for
films, food, old paintings and classical music. In 2008, he graduated from Gobelins Animation
School with his award-winning short For Sock's Sake. Though he now works for Pixar in San
Francisco, his real passion remains with the tedious and dirty craft of animating the world around
him.
